You have to look closely to see it but yes...that is a bobcat at our screen door. (look towards the center of the bottem panel of the door) This pic was taken through our blinds so its very fuzzy.
Who would have thunk it?!? I was laughing at Ulyses blog on his pet alligator but hell, looks like Ive got myself a "pet" bobcat!
Our property butts up to Lake Lotus Park which is a wildlife sanctuary. It has all manner of wildlife there. We often have masked mauraders (racoons) break onto the patio to rummage through our trash. We see armadillos scurry across the road (that reminds me of a joke..."Why did the armadillo cross the road?...Cause he thought he could make it!!") and armidillo's uglier cousin (hard to believe cause what is uglier than an amridillo?) the possom. Or is it Opossum? We have even had a bear in the neighborhood.
The story of the bear goes that our neighbor across the street was making out with his girlfriend in the car about 12 30 in the morning and he looks out the window and sees a bear lumber along right in front of the car!! Well...either that or they was smoking some doobie.
The bobcat was amazing! They are small..like a medium to small sized dog. When I first saw him along the patio screen I actually thought he was one of our cats, but upon closer inspection I realized that the coloring was different and our cats dont have hair coming out of their ears in long white tufts. E grabbed the camera and I went to get the girl from out front. He was so cool...he smelled around and heard the door close and froze. He paused, looked at us and then turned around and went off into the woods.
Heres a pic from one that I got offline. Ours is much smaller than this. How cool is that. I feel like whats his name from Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom.

Now you have to change the name of the blog to "Dancing with Bobcats" or as Robert said today, "What's the name of Patti's blog again? Don't run over the Cats?" Didn't I just have this conversation with him last night??? I'm renaming my blog to "Dancing With Helen Keller" . . .Call me Annie Sullivan
I was driving by the other day and greeted George w. in the street. What does he think about your guest?
Pretty cat! I need a new coat. HMM...
