Random Facts part V

Yes...its been awhile. Enjoy!

Honey is the only food that does not spoil. Honey found in the tombs of Egyptian pharaohs has been tasted by archaeologists and found edible (What...did they forget to pack Jelly?)

Months that begin on a Sunday will always have a "Friday the 13th." (I did not know that!)

Coca-Cola would be green if colouring weren’t added to it. (as long as its not yellow)

On average a hedgehog's heart beats 300 times a minute. (define hedgehog)


More people are killed each year from bees than from snakes. (snakes, bees..whatever)

The average lead pencil will draw a line 35 miles long or write approximately 50,000 English words. (wow...I was thinking more around 25 miles or so...)

Camels have three eyelids to protect themselves from blowing sand.(cats have three eyelids too!)

The placement of a donkey's eyes in its' heads enables it to see all four feet at all times! (I feel better about the plight of the donkey now!)

The six official languages of the United Nations are: English, French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish. (Wouldnt you think that Farsi was somewhere in there....Pum? Can you weigh in on this one?)

I was quite impressed with several of these. First the hedgehog, we have LOTS of those up here. Come visit and you will see all kinds of those little rascals.
Second, Camels and the eyelids, Oh my, can you imagine their MaryKay bill? All that eyeshadow and eyeliner to buy. Unless of course if you have a relative or two who are consultants (can you tell I do) then they'd get a discount.
Can you tell its Friday, I've had one beer and I am ready for the weekend! Bring it on.

As I'm sure you can imagine, I am both outraged and offended, but not surprised. I live with the hope that one day my beautiful first language will be not only used, but celebrated.
