Ive been experimenting with chocolate lately. Typically Im a straight milk chocolate kind of girl. But I do enjoy a good dark chocolate. The big trend right now in chocolates(who knew there were trends in the world or chocolate!!!) is the "Ultra-dark" or "Supreme blend". Basically its more cacao bean in the mix. Its a very distinctive taste and from what I understand it ups the whole anti-oxidant component of chocolate. (As if anyone needed a reason to eat chocolate)
Ive found that really the maximum amount of cacao that I want in a chocolate is 60% or lower. I tried a 70% last weekend and it was extrememly bitter...interesting but not something Id like to eat regularily anti-oxidant or not.
There is one that Ghiardelli makes that is 72% cacao. Heck...just eat a cacao bean at that point.
All in all, give me a good old Hersheys and Im all good. It really is my favorite chocolate.
