Plato's Closet

The girl is totally at the inbetween stage right now.

Not quite a little kid...not quite a pre-teen. Its frustrating.

While she is a sweet child by nature, she also has a feisty streak in her...which Im actually sort of glad for...you like to see that a child has some "gumption" in her personality, right?

What has been frustrating recently is the clothes issue. Being tall like me and E, she is out of the young girl's section almost and just starting in the teen sections at sizes 0 or 2. Problem is she isnt really ready for the teen clothes in terms of style. She is happy to be in tee shirts and cotton skorts or whatever, but in the teen sections...there is nary a cotton skort to be found. She is definately more sporty than girly right now (which is killing me) in her personal taste...but at least its a GIRLIE type of sporty.Holly recommeded this new resale shop for teens for the girl and its right around the corner.

Plato's Closet is a GOLD MINE for teens and also for the owners. The place was PACKED on Saturday. When I walked in there I realized I will never have to pay retail for jeans for my child again. They had racks and racks of jeans. The expensive kind...for like a fraction of what they cost regularly.Racks and racks of tee shirts from Abercroimbe and Ralph Lauren and Roxy and all kinds of trendy teen shops. But they were no more than 10 dollars!!
Like I said, the place was packed and I couldnt help but think to myself what a great idea this place was as teens change their minds about clothes as often as they...well, change clothes!

While it was still a bit stressful finding stuff that fit both the size criteria and the appropriate criteria we walked away with several skirts, a pair of shoes and some tees. Not bad for 50 dollars.
