What's that smell?

I usually find a fragance and stick with it for a couple of years (no comments on that Ms. Sweet) Currently I wear CK ONE which I love..its a fresh spicy fragrance.

WHile I was spraying it on yesteday I was thinking about all the different perfumes that I wore at different times of my life.

Like all girls of the 70's I started out wearing LOVE'S BABY SOFT...I wonder if they even make it anymore. I started by sneaking my sister's until finally my mom got me my own bottle. Its a real powdery girly smell that is yummy. Light and fresh and just perfect for a pre teen.

In my early teens I graduated to CHARLIE...OH MY LANDS...even writing that makes me giggle. It was such a cliche of a perfume...the advertising for that perfume was TOTALLY early 80's showing a sassy young woman who 'had it all'...she was after all...Charlie... GAG!!!!

The high school years I flip flopped between wearing a perfume called EXCLAMIATION which was in a black and white bottle that was shaped like an exclaimation point. This was a heavy perfume and my mother and sister hated it because it was so strong it could induce headaches. I course I always wore way way too much!! I also wore Elizabeth Ashley MUSK (my best friend at the time introduced me to that) or Coty MUSK OIL (less expensive, but mostly the same scent)

Of couse the high school years were also peppered with stealing squirts of CHANNEL NO. 5 from my mother...her signature scent. The funniest part is that it was fairly expensive and so she didnt like us to borrow it. But of course I did. I can remember trying to convince her that "no, I didnt use any" with those bit wide open eyes...as if she couldnt smell it on my.

In college I was a HUGE HUGE HUGE Calvin Klein fan...OBESESSION or ETERNITY. Those scents will forever be the late 80's for me. Even catching a whiff of them now takes me back to parties and clubs and late nights andgoing out and just all those things you do in college. If you remember those fragrances were also the names of ones for MEN so really we all went around smelling like ETERNITY OR OBESSION.

After college I graduated to LIZ CLAIBORNE by Liz Claiborne and then finally SAFARI by Ralph Lauren.

SAFARI is my favorite favorite favorite scent. My friend Catherine introduced it to me. She always wore it and smelled like heaven in it. I swear I woudl have gone to my grave wearing it had they not discontinued it.

My twin sister claims that we never wore perfume growing up EXCEPT when we went to this one friends house and I would venture to say it was "Roses Roses". We laugh cause NO ONE wears roses roses.
I love Estee Lauder! White Linen, Estee, Beautiful. I am a creature of habit. And those are my favorites. Love them.
