I love to see her read but....

The girl has taken to reading in the bathtub...while bathing that is.

I laugh because that is exactly what I used to do growing up. Never mind that we only had one bathroom and soaking in the tub for an hour reading would put other people out.

When she came out the other day with a waterlogged book I had to laugh with her because reading in the tub is truly an art:

1. Find a book that you are interested in but one that you wont die if it gets wet.

2. Put the book on the toilet lid while you get in the tub.

3. Before you get in, also put by the tub a hand towel so that you can wipe your ands off when they inevitably get wet.

4. If necessary, (which I always did) fold up a towel to act as a pillow. This towel will get extremely wet so dont ASK your mom doing it, just do it and squeeze all the water out at the end, and leave it in a pile to mildew in the tub.

5. Grab the book and recline back, positioning the towel behind your head and being sure not to let the book slip into the water.

6. Adjust the water level/heat with your feet if necessary.

I think for Christmas I am getting her one of these and one of these.

I love reading in the bathtub! Like you, I've done it since childhood and believe it or not, follow these same steps... amazing. (I don't leave the towel in the tub though... mildew gives me the creeps.) :)

Ben likes to read while using the bathroom and he always has a red ring when he is finished - I guess I should get him a padded toilet seat for Christmas!!!
