If Chestnuts Are Already Roasting on an Open Fire....

...they will be burnt by Christmas!!

I had a much needed day off on Monday. It was great to get a chance to sleep in and tend to some odds and ends that got shoved aside in the blur of last week.

I did a quick run to Walmart to pick up some photos. I swear the only reason I go to Walmart is because it is on this side of the street and to get to Target I have to actually cross 434.

Mind you, this is not necessarily a good reason to go ot Walmart...I am such a Target girl that Walmart seems so run down and seedy to me. Now, i realize this is not the case with all Walmarts (right Brenda?) but this one is a bit due for a make over.

What I hate the most is that the aisles are so narrow and there is so much crap in the center of the aisles that you cant pass anyone. So if someone in your row decided they want to stop and look at something...youre stuck. Literally.

And who knew so many people shopped during the DAY?!?! (kidding...) I was shocked at the number of people that were there. I tend to shop early in the day when things are less crowded and was unprepared for the legions of shoppers...who were...mind you...shopping for CHRISTMAS stuff.

'Scuse me, but I believe the calendar is still in the first week of November! I dont know why I am suprised at this but I always am. Between the piped in Christmas Carols, the photo booth ready with Santa in it, and the massive display of Christmas ornaments, I shouldnt be caught off guard.I think that Christmas should wait until at least the week before Thanksgiving to gear up.

I laughed when I overheard two empolyees discussing how they should just start putting up Christmas stuff after Easter next year.

Its funny cause its true.

I would LOVE to be able to get Christmas shopping all done right now. Guess that's why I started early on my xmas calendars!

Oh, if you would like for me to tell a really good "Walmart" story, send me to Walmart when it's time for school supply shopping. I would just assume have a hemmroidectomy(been there done that-no lie) and I can't get on a roll. I have never been so thankful to NOT have school age children anymore. I would buy stuff FULL price during the year JUST to avoid that scenerio. Or better yet-a sharp stick in the eye. It does make for a good story though. Bren

I agree with you on the Wal-Mart and the early push on Christmas. But I also did my photo cards with the kids this week, bought their Christmas outfits today (already on SALE!), and am feeling guilty over how much more shopping my mother has done than I have. Seems like if you don't rush with the store you get the leftover scraps.
