On Saturday I was as excited as a kid on Christmas morning!
Im just so looking forward to having the week off and we dont have a ton going on which means I can be home and puttering around the house doing stuff that Ive been wanting to do for a bit. I love being home...I mean I seriously love my home! Its not that big and its not that special but I love it!
Anyway, I was excited and my internal clock woke up up at 4:50am. My alarm usually rings at 5am on school days (and then I tend to hit the snooze or not hit the snooze as the day demands) so I figured I was just waking up because of habit. But then I couldnt go back to sleep....this is not terribly out of character for me as I love the morning. But yesterday, I couldnt sleep because i was thinking about the next week and having nothing pressing to deal with.
So I decided since I couldnt sleep I might as well get up and go shopping. Where does one go shopping at 5 am on a Saturday morning. (Brenda???) SUPER WALMART!!
As Ive stated before, Im not a huge Walwart fan, because Im such a Target girl. Eric calls the Super Walmart the Apopka Mall. And if youre from the South (according to my friend Leigh who grew up in Silas, Alabama...home of only one stop light) you call it WalmartS, with an S on the end. If youre really really Southern then you call it THE WalmartS!
Now, do keep in mind that Super Walmart is not some where you want to go on a Saturday...its usually annoyingly packed out, but heck, at this hour I figured it should be fairly quiet. And it was...eerily so. I was a wee bit nervous walking in the deserted parking lot. But once in the store the Christmas music was playing and the flourescent lights were humming and the shopping cart was clipping along...it was all good.
I poked around for about 2 1/2 hours picking up some Christmas gifts, Christmas letter paper, supplies in general and then doing the grocery shopping as well. My best find for the day, a little knit dress and tights for my neice! She is adorable and all she needs to complete it is a bow.
I was back by about 7:45am...funny thing was, no one was even awake yet!! Later in the afternoon E was like..." Hey where did you get this frame?"
My answer, "The Walmarts!"

woah shopping at 5 am!? that's about what time i go to bed! ;)
I like to shop early to beat the crowd BUT, it never leads to good WALMART stories. You have to brave the crowds to get really aggravated enough to begin thinking of stories that make no sense and are typical "Wally World". I did go yesterday (Nick said it had been 5 months since I had last been there) and he was watching all the people who were winging around corners NOT paying attention to the other cart drivers. I laughed cause he said some old lady was smiling at him (she was about 90) and he figured up here, he'll take whatever kinda hits he can at this point. Last year, it was the meat department man helping me with my turkey purchase that hit on me. So different strokes for different folks. Mine wasn't 90 by the way.
