I always cringe at making New Year's resolutions, but all things put aside, it is a good time for "cleaning house" and making some changes.

Here are some things I would like to accomplish in 2008.

1. Read more...KIDDING!!! I didnt make my goal again of 85 books this year. In 2006 I set the goal of 100 books and read about 86ish...so in 2007 I thought I would set the bar at an achieveable level of 85. I didnt make it but am right at about 60 for the year. Im still happy with it. Ill keep the goal at 85 for 2008 and see what I can do!

2. I would like to set a realistic goal for losing 10 pounds by Valentine's day. If more that is good but Im going to focus on 10. I need to drop some weight but the mountain of committment and the amount of discipline it takes is overwhelming. This seems do-able. On Valentine's we are going to a Van Halen concert at the Arena (our Christmas gift to each other) so that is my target date. I can do it, right??? Sigh.....me and my weight. I swear its a mill stone around my neck. All I can say is that in heaven, I aint gonna be fat!!!

3. Read through the New Testament. Id love to say Id read through the whole Bible, but I know myself too well and I get all bogged down in the drudgery of Numbers and Deuteronomy and then I quit. Maybe I should start at Revelation and work my way backwards....Hmmm....

4. Learn to relax a bit more. Let the big stuff be the big stuff and the little stuff be the little stuff.

5. Love my husband more. We argue alot over stupid stuff. I figure at least we have it out in the open all the time. Ive always said that the girl will have no unrealistic expectations of marriage because she sees us argue...and apologize to each other. I guess Id just like to remember who he is in Christ and to let his stuff be his stuff....God is dealing with him and I dont need to. I need ot be less stubborn too Why is it that the people who are the closest to us are the onest that we struggle the most with? I suppose this is typical for most couples as being that the one you are closest to is the one that you engage the most with...

That's it...

Me, just gonna pass Algebra, that's one goal, whether it's taking the stupid class all over again or Mayyyybe this first time around and, I want to go to the beach, by myself. Don't know if that's attainable but it's a goal. Need some down time by myself. Oh and hopefully take a motorcycle class with a friend and learn to drive one. Look out other drivers!
