If you are not a cat person you will find this blog entry boring and go.."WHA???" If you are a cat person, you will appreciate the cat relationships that exist in our home.
Let me tell you how it works in our house:
George W is the cat that we have now had the longest. He was street cat that someone gave us and he is just one of those good 'ole boy type cats. Silly, a lover, but also street smart and he has a calvacade of ladies and fans on the block who love him.
Spooky is older than George, but newer to the house. He is also bigger than George and gaining weight. George has more of that thin "stealth cat" type of body while Spooky rather just enjoys lazing around and his gut proclaims this loudly! He grew up on the streets as well as a kitten and is DEFINATELY territorial
Cleocatria is the only girl and she is left from the litter we fostered this summer. She is really here by default as no one had adopted her and Ive gotten tired of taking her each Saturday. She is not pretty, and there is nothing special about her but she is in love with E. Ridiculously so. If she were a woman, Id be jealous. She is a freaky cat too...very touch me not and sort of bitchy to any females.
Mike Rowe is the boy that we wanted to keep from the summer liter. He is white with blue eyes and has that typical male cat personality (at least for a domestic shorthair) very easy, loving and really just enjoys being petted and loved.
So here is they dynamics:
George W and Spooky do not get along. George is actually the alpha cat of the house but when Spooky sees him, he will challenge this with hissing and spitting but then run away. George gets aggravated but will not fight for the most part.
George W does not like Cleocatria. She is too much of a loose cannon. HOWEVER, Cleo loves to taunt George and will follow him around and lie in wait for him just to annoy the hell out of him. George gets irritated and flees to the outdoors rather than deal with her shenanigans.
Mike Rowe loves Cleocatria and Cleo tolerates Mike. She allows him to groom her and sleep with her (not copulate, but actually nestle down and sleep togehter in their bed) They both wrestle with each other and can chase and tussle with one another and there is no harm done. Still if Mike is in their bed, Cleo will not usually join him.
George and Mike only touch noses and walk away from each other. Mike turns first showing honor to the Alpha cat. George gives him a stare down.
Cleo and Spooky do not interact. They both give each other a wide berth.
Spooky and Mike will tolerate each other in that they will both sit on the same lap until one or the other gets too much petting and then the one feeling slighted will jump off and find other warm areas to lie.
At night the sleeping arrangements are as such: George down at E's feet, Spooky between us if allowed and not being annoying or having stinky breath. Mike Rowe sleeps at my head or under E's arm and Cleo runs around like a bat out of hell all night.
In the morning, all cats come in the bathroom while I get ready. The two babies try to sit on the vanity with me but get shooed out. Mostly the end up in or around the tub, tussling with each other or taking their own baths.
Just in case you were wondering...
Thats how it goes in our house.

I thought our house was the only one with strange cat habits. I sat down at the dinner table last night to look over in living room, the two kitties has thrown all my teddy bears on the floor off the chair and beat them up. I just had to chuckle out loud. Poor bears never had a chance. B
