I got to zip over to the other campus on Friday for Young Author's day and of course it made me cry. And I dont just cry over the girl's stuff...I get teary because the readers/authors are so EARNEST in their delivery. Its really very sweet.
After that we went to the mall, the girl, E and I and dinked around there for a bit. I bought the girl one of my favorite 4th grade novels SHILOH and also for fun TALES OF A FOURTH GRADE NOTHING. I completely look forward to visiting my old friends in these stories! (Believe me...I am aware how nerdy that sounds...)
Saturday I made a run to Super Wal-mart which Ill ONLY go to if its early in the morning because its so packed otherwise. They really do have good prices and you get a lot of bang for your buck. I got home about 8 30 am and went for a walk/run, came home, jumped in the pool cause i was so hot...noticed it was filthy so I swept it. I spent the rest of the day doing laundry and cleaning out our drawers and closets of old clothing, stuff that didnt fit, unmatched socks, ugly stuff ....you know the routine. Three garbage bags later, I made a run to the Community Thrift store to dump it off. The girl had a friend over all day and they were busy running around and swimming and being girls. Holly came over for dinner as she was without husband, girls or son...that never happens. We grilled out and it was well. Needless to say I was in bed by 9:00 after a chat with my sister.
Today was church and out to dinner and then here we are! Getting ready for another week. Only 5 left to the school year and then 12 long glorious weeks of summer...its just within reach!!!
Below is the videotape of the girl introducing her book. I love that child so MUCH!!
