Its been a crazy two weeks.
Im thankful for a small peaceful evening like tonite.
Although... my husband is watching BEOWOLF which I can hear from the other room...NOT so peaceful. He keeps raving about how good it is for a CGI movie. I keep telling him to shush and try reading a book once in awhile. Ah well I cant be too hard on him after all his hard work during tax season. He slept until noon today and then went into the office to tidy things up a bit after the chaos of the last big push.
Im so glad we only do this once a year!! He said today when he totaled up his time, he figured out that over the past 9 days he only spent 49 hours away from the office...and 20 of those were spent on commute time. That is NUTS! That said, I suppose he's entitled to a bit of BEOWOLF, no? Tomorrow we go out with the firm to celebrate and then Friday we are going to St. Pete for some R and R. It should be good..although we all know how I feel about traveling.
Im trying to remember to breathe and not miss the ride.
Its hard somedays to stay in the present and not try to "be prepared" for every little thing. What always intrigues me is how our strong points can also be our weaknesses. Im a very big planner and like to know what is happening down the road, which is great in a job like mine where I need to prepare others for the days ahead. However, its also one of my worst qualities in that Im not overly flexible. I am doing better at this however...for example today was SLAMMING at work and usually I can see that coming and prepare for it a bit. Today, not so much...but I just rode out the chaos and HELLO...I lived.
What?!?!?!
However, I wont admit to enjoying it! Still, its nice to realize that youre growing a bit in areas that are difficult.
