Its always nice to travel with AP students as they tend to be highly motivated, generally interested and quite well behaved. Combine that with an interesting and well planned trip and you have the making for a fairly easy trip.
Highlights of what we did:
- Visited the Boston Museum of Science
- Took a "duck tour" of the City to get an overview (this is by both land and sea)
- Took the subway to Harvard Yard
- Traveled to Momma and Papa Nadeau's for dinner and lodging
- Boarded the reknown "USS Ironsides" at Yorktown and got to tour that
- Took the Ferry to Boston
- Visited Fanieul Hall
- Walked the Freedom trail with Nadeau as our guide
- Ate in the Italian district
- Rode the Subway to FENWAY PARK
- Watched the Boston Red Sox vs. Kansas City Royals
- Visited the Kennedy Library
- Took in the Boston Aquarium
My favorite part was totally going to see Fenway. Talk about a feel for history. Just walking up to the "Green Monstah" was amazing. You could actually FEEL the history in an old ball park like this one! The game was fun overall and we got to engage in some Boston traditions like singing "Sweet Caroline" in the middle of the 8th inning.
I think what also made it so fun was that the weather was GORGEOUS! It was like 50-60 degrees and just no humidity and breezy. Overall a great trip!
