Friday and Saturday of this past week I was so tired!
My friend Diane (who happens to be Carol-my-roomate-from-college's sister --see previous blog--) has newborn twin girls. They are actually about a month old now but since they were premature and twins they are still so tiny! She also has a one year old and a four year old so she has her hands full to the brim.
To give her a night of solid sleep, I spent the night there on Thursday so that I could do the night shift with the babies. It was amazingly precious and also a bit of a challenge-- Here's the run down:
45- minutes used to settle with baby number one after 11pm feeding
24- ounces of formula for twins (3 bottles at 4 oz times two babies)
4- poopy diapers changed
8- wet diapers changed
8- blankets used throughout the night
12- attempts needed to get swaddling nice and tight
45- minutes used to settle baby number 2 after 3 30 feeding
2- boppy's needed to feed babies at the same time
1- eipsode of older sister (year old) needing attention
1- episode of big brother getting up
1- conversation about how Mom needs her sleep
4- hours of sleep (2 and 2)
64- ounces of diet coke needed intravenously in the morning
I was bleary eyed at the 7am feeding, but oh my, they were so sweet I could have eaten them.

And to think, my mom had two sets of twins!

Just think--when your baby is here it will only seem like half the work. What a sweet gift to give to Diane.
Oh, that's so sweet!!! I agree with Amy... maybe you should help Diane once a week so that when your sweet baby comes you'll feel like it's a walk in the park. :)
