The imperceptible shift from summer-time to school-time?
This is about the time each year that we are gearing up to return to school. Because our school is finishing a new building the start day for school was pushed back until after Labor day, giving us an extra month of summer. (Or, if you remember from back in the day...how it used to be)
That said, a glance at the calendar is all that I need to tell me the busy-ness is upon me. This week the girl has volleyball camp and her best friend coming for a night, as well as another little friend later this week. E's firm is throwing a babyshower for us this week too which is so incredibly generous. Throw in some school meetings, a dear friend in town, getting stitches out of my head (another story) and getting ready for a week at the beach next week, and you have alot of activity. Breathe...breathe...breathe. Ive said it before that many of life's joys are found in the tenison of life; you cant appreciate rest with out work and visa versa. I have to remember this!
Its so interesting to me that while I dont necessarily love the whole get-up -and-go-to-work every day thing, I do enjoy that structure of my days. Ive talked about this before, but Ive seen it even more this summer. Im definately like 10 times more efficient when I have something I need to do and a routine. Case in point, this summer alot of times it was like 11: 30 am before we got moving. Not that this is a bad thing, but hell, you turn around and its dinner time. BUT...that is summer! Still, I was so inefficient with my time and was constantly feeling like I wasnt getting anything accomplished. In reality, I was, but at a slower pace.
Im rambling, I know, but Im also gearing up for a busy next three weeks until school begins.
Breathe in...
Breathe out...
Breathe in...
Breathe out...
