Rendering Final Judgement

An adoption cannot be finalized until 90 days after the birth or placement of the child who is adopted.
Since the Baby Girl was born on September 29, we were hoping for a court date before the end of the year. This would be a huge benefit because once the Baby Girl is legally ours, she is viewed as such by the Federal Government. This is huge because the Government offers a $11,000 tax credit for adoptions. For us, this will be a huge help in paying for the adoption itself! (or paying on the financing we have regarding this)

We knew this going into it, however, our social worker told us not to get our hopes up because while the judgement cannot be rendered BEFORE 90 days, it certainly can be rendered AFTER 90 days and its totally up to the discretion of the judge.

We got word this week that the hearing will be on December 31, 2008.

Isnt God hilarious?!? ( and very gracious and good too!!!)
