The Things of Childhood Nightmares

As a child one of my biggest fears was encountering a snake.
It was my number one recurring nightmare. Tales have been told of me screaming about snakes in my bed in the middle of the night, of me worrying about snakes wrapped around the bottom of the toilet (thank you Riki Tiki Tavi) and of me screaming at full volume over a stick that LOOKED like a snake. On our trips to the Brookfield Zoo, if the Reptile house was even mentioned, there were tears.
Of course as I aged, I realized that
1) the chances of encountering a rattlesnake in the urban area where we lived were slim and none,
2) snakes are much more afraid of you than you are of them and
3) while I woudnt want one for a pet, for the most part, there are far less poisonous snakes than non-poisonous.
Shoot, a couple of years ago I scooped one out of the pool and put it out side...with a long pool net, but still! Will I jump when I see one, absolutely, will I run amok with my hands raised above my head screaming....probably not.
All that said, B posted these pictures of an albino snake that Michael was called to get out of our neighbors yard. Albino snake? Now that 's just gross (and probably someone's pet that they let lose) A BIG albinos snake? Im getting a stomach ache. A BIG albino snake with red eyes that was let go in the nature area behind our house...well running amok doesnt sound so silly anymore... LOL! JUST kidding.
It was gross though! Check out the pics. Brandi gives the full account.

I loved Riki Tiki Tavi!! I watched it over and over as a kid. Still hate snakes; it's something about the slithering.
