This week in class Iam doing a tessellation project with my students which requires being out of my little favored box of top down teaching. The kids enjoy it immensely...I love the conversations that occur during this time. When someone threw a pair of scissors (safty scissors) into the box from a rather far distance I said..."Please not throw the scissors."
I was very calm because in my head I thought..."who throw scissors?!?!" But students do odd things.
It reminded me of the list of things that I never imagined that I would say in class. Here is a sampling:
"There will be no more monkey noises in this class"
"If your books are in the trash, they are not in your possession"
"No, I do not want a birthday gram... its not my birthday!"
"Please dont cheat...it makes alot more work for me if you do"
"You must wear a shirt in this class"
"I do not enjoy Pikachu"
Random I know....
