Awards

Last night was our Awards Ceremony.

Its always a joy to recognize accomplishments...in all areas: academic, athletic, and spirtually. It reminds me of why we do what we do. Its so often that I get lost in the day...taking care of the million details that are required to move forward another 24 hours. Im so not a big picture person that occassionally when I stop and look around finally I realize where we are and where we have come from. Last night was one of those nights.

The following were Dick's comments at the end of the ceremony. Fitting and moving and reminded me of the forest and not just the trees.

" We are here to celebrate the gifts and achievements both academic and athletic of those students you have seen tonight. I rejoice with you as parents and friends for the accomplishments we have just recognized and for all those to come in the future. With that said I have to tell you that what I am most excited about is the spirit of your students and specifically the Holy Spirit at work within them. This year has been a very different year than years before and I believe the difference is that many of these students have heard God’s call on their lives. His call to use their gifts and talents not only to make their own lives better, but to make the world better… His call to redeem a fallen creation. Tonite we celebrate your children, the next generation and the future. A generation of God’s children who “get it”. They will make a difference one life at a time, one act of love at a time. Thank you for sharing them with us."
