Brio and Spidey

Last night we went out with our friend Pete. I work with him now and E went to seminary with him years and years ago. It was SUCH a lovely night out even though it was about to rain...a little breezy.

We went to BRIO at Winter Park Villiage. Very Tuscany-ish!! Ive been before but just enjoyed the evening so much as we sat outside and had great conversation and good food. I dont have a very distinguished palate, but I love this one salad they have. Its a quarter of a head of iceberg lettuce topped with gorgonzola, blue cheeeze and bacon. SOoooo yummy! I also had their shrimp bruschetta. It was good but in all honestly Im not much of a "foodie" (meaning I love what I love and dont necessarily need the complicated or exotic)(this from a girl who has eaten raw cookie dough from the tube for an entire meal...shut up...you know youve done it too!!!)

In all the busy-ness of life lately I had forgotten how lovely it is just to sit and enjoy a lengthy meal with several parts. You know I am so much about destination and not necessarily the journey that I often miss the ride. This was great though sitting outside with the breeze and low humidity and running into people we knew who were walking by...having bread with real butter....then a yummy salad...then the entree...then dessert...then a glass of wine. It was simply lovely .

Then we had to ruin the night with going to see SPIDER MAN III. I was so bamboozled into seeing this!! I had told Pete on Friday that maybe we could all go out to eat and then he and E could go see the movie. Im generally a pumpkin after 9 anyway but he and E convinced me to go.

ahhhh well there are worse ways to spend an evening!!!
