My Indian friend Pumnani had three great points regarding keeping a clean house and raising children at the same time. She has one grown son and two in high school...she totally gets the picture.
"When I realized my kids were picking up on my stress about the mess, not very hard to do when you see me gritting my teeth and rolling my eyes, I realized they and their friends didn't feel welcomed and that about killed me! I changed my mind set to this is the house they are going to remember their whole lives and I want it to be the place they felt the most welcomed and comfortable. As long as they respect my house and don't tear it up maliciously, I want them here, because it goes by SOOOOO fast!"
Um hello...why is it Im so focused on the wrong things? Thanks, Pum, for pointing out what really matters.
Oh and just for the record, you may NOT take the girl for a nose piercing. (Yes, Brandi, Indians do look great with nose rings!!)
