Reality Check

It seems odd for someone who is overweight to actually be encouraged by wearing a bathing suit at a water theme park all day, but I was, strangely enough, encouraged.

I realized first of all that there are alot alot alot of people out there who are much fatter than I.

Secondly I realized that there is no accounting for taste.

Thirdly what struck me was how few people actually have perfect or near perfect bodies.

I actually did feel better about myself physically. What struck me is how even at age almost 40, I believe what the media tells me and shows me. I believe that everyone has these rock hard bodies and perfect breasts and great abs. That everyone is perfectly tanned and has gorgeous hair, nails and features.

Wow..in reality most people have a little meat on them. Most breasts are far from perfect. Any woman who has had a child will most likely have a little poochie tummy. People are pale!! Hair is not perfect and no one in their right minds wears makeup to a water park. It was such a great reality check for me...to realize that most people have bodies that are not perfect. Many are overweight. Noses come in all sizes. Arms have flab on them....freckles abound.

Wendy said it best..."Quit hanging around all those skinny high schoolers and skinny people and you will be in reality!"

Wait till you get to be 50 girl. It starts to sag all differently. Up here in the GA mountains, you look good at 50!HA. And I have to admit, I do wear makeup to the beach. Sorry but Mary Kay keeps the sunspots away! Funny you wrote this blogspot, I was gonna do one on buying bathing suits - right up there with buying jeans. But I actually liked buying my bathing suit this year - 1st time ever! Only took me till age 50 to do that. It will never be perfect, but Nick says I look hot in it. My theory, if you can still turn a few heads at 50, go for it.

My elderly aunt told me that she suffered from furniture disease. I said, "What's that?" She said, "It's went you get to that age when your chest falls into your drawers."
