Little Miss Sunshine

We watched Little Miss Sunshine last week.




LOVED it....think National Lampoon's Vacation with a soul...




Its about a family on a road trip to a prepubescent beauty pagent. (E was in shock at how there are actually pagents that girls parents PUT them in like this...)



This family is so dysfunctional and so wrong that you feel their pain as well as laugh at the absurdity of it. I think its partially so funny and heart breaking because there are parts of our own families in there. OH MY LANDS...I think if I had to take a road trip with my family of in a brokendownish VW bus I would not be sure of the results!!

Its really a movie though about broken dreams...about how life isnt what we want it to be or wish it to be but how embracing what it is can bring a kind of peace and happiness that is. One by one the characters have their dreams shattered and we see how they react to them.


(what was so funny is about 3/4 of the way into the DVD we took a break to make something to eat and E says...."this movie is really deep...these people are having their dreams shattered...It totally a movie about how they are reacting to not having their life dream" I just looked at him and said,,,"UH DUHhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Hello first five minutes of the movie!!!!" We howled...)


Rent it...its funny and poignant all at the same time.
