Freaky hair

Pumnani came to my rescue on teacher conference day. I had a hair-related emergency and she supplied me with a curling iron.

My hair is longer than it has been in years. Im enjoying it but it sure takes alot alot alot more work than shorter hair.

My hair is pretty thick and has a good bit of natural curl to it. When my hair was shorter I would go to bed with it wet and then in the morning just roll it in hot rollers...three rollers, a little touch from the curling iron on my bangs, a bit of hairspray and then off we go. Seriously.

Longer hair demands more attention, starting with conditioning the hell out of it after washing. And Im not talking that cheap-run-of-the-mill-grocery-store conditional either...this is the heavy duty stuff. Once washed I proceed with putting a smoothing product in it Next comes the blow out. (Ive taken to washing my hair every other day just because I cant stand how long it takes to blow it out. ) After that it is the flat iron to further smooth out the rouge wavy hair. Then I curl it a bit with the curling iron, put some anti frizz stuff on it to keep it from going haywire and finally shellac with hair spray. All in all...a strenuous routine!!!

And some days...even that doesnt work. All I need is a humid classroom or having to run the trash out to the curb and POOF....im a huge frizzy mess. Vicki claims taking her flat iron to school and doing it there eliminates the problem. Maybe Ill give this a try.

I will have to agree 100%. As you know I have long hair and it's the longest I have ever had it. I too wash it every other day to avoid the long hours of primping on "the wash day". I have a "Chi" and told my family that I have to save a dollar a day for a hundred days just in case my "Chi" breaks. Only way I can afford the "good" hair products is if my daughters love their mother enough to share the good stuff they can afford! Solution, live in Colorado. I had my BEST hair days in Colorado.NO FRIZZ whatsoever. It was awesome.

P.S. I can't wait to see what U's comment is to this one - bald is beautiful and cheap!

You're so making me laugh!! P- you should let your hair naturally curl one day, kink it up with your hands and put some curl boost in it...i bet it would look very becoming!! (psst...i keep telling you this but you NEVER listen!! one day you'll say, damn- I shoulda listened to that girl!)

Oh you people and your hair. You crack me up. I bet if you went without doing anything to your hair for a week, you'd get used to the way it looks and then you'd end up like me...always putting it in a pony tail and fuhgedaboudit!
