Hooray!

I wish that the human condition did not include being tired. Its so annoying to have to slow down or stop what you are doing because of fatigue. And yet, its good too because then you have a reason to actually stop what you are doing to rest and take a break, which is healthy.

Homecoming went well and it was exhausting all at the same time. I dislike going out at nightime just as a rule...I know its seems rather "old-fart-ish" for someone not yet 40, but I figure that getting up at 5am and dealing most of the day with people, running a home, being a wife and being a mother gives me a good reason to be tired come 5pm. Plus Im just have low energy at night time (see my blog on morning v. night people). For the past 7 days I was out every night except for one. Yeah...I guess that is why Im tired.

Dont get me wrong, its definately a fun week!However, the chaos can wear on you a bit...the changing schedule, the kids in costume, daily games, nightly activities. Its definately a homecoming celebration all right!

Ive decided my favorite things about this week were the Ping Pong tournament and one of our lunchtime games "making news paper outfits" the Ping Pong tournement was a blast...We began it last year and I had not attended it so I was delighted with how the kids were so competative and into it. Its always nice when you can see them toss off the preconcieved notions of what a teenager should be and actuallly just be themselves. That is precious!

News paper outfits was a lunchtime game that they participated in for class points. Each class had 6 members up front with 3 boys and 3 girls. Their goal was to make a homecoming outfit on one boy and one girl using only newspaper and tape. While their class cheered them on it was hilarious what they came up with: strapless miniskirt outfits, tiaras, vests and more. It was quite hilarious.

I cant believe that Thanksgiving is just three weeks away and then it will be Christmas!!
More later , E wants to use the computer to study. Sheesh...what does he think he has, the stinking CPA exam or something?
