The pumpkin pie debacle wears on...
As you recall, my first attempt was a loss because of a mistaken identity: Who remembers that evaporated milk and sweetened condensed milk are two different things?!?!
Round number two produced a pie that had all the right ingredients, but stayed for about 30 minutes too long in the oven. Yes...it was burnt.
The third attempt...well, I was cooking a pot pie at the same time and when the timer beeped off I asked E to take both out of the oven. Only after it had cooled did I realize that it was not done cooking and was more the consistency of...well...pumpkin pudding. We ended up bringing it to a "lets get rid of our leftovers" dinner night with the neighbors. (After laughing at my blunder we dipped gingersnaps in it and it was okay on that)
The fourth attempt: FABULOUS...Publix does make a nice pie!

I cooked the bag with the neck/giblets in the turkey two years in a row so don't feel bad. It always makes for good stories. We would have nothing to talk about in our "history" if we didn't make blunders now would we. "the girl" will remember that forever. I love it. Bren
I am attempting NO pies this year. My mom's bringing the dessert. I am, however, making everything else. I cleaned the ENTIRE house today and made everyone around me crazy. BTW... never follow Tilex with comet. Gagging, coughing, and general irritability are the result.
