What I love about Christmas:
1. Watching A Christmas Story
2. Reading people's Christmas letters
3. Finding that perfect gift for someone
4. Manger scenes ( or Creches, Pum pum)
5. The Candlelight Service on Christmas Eve
6. Making Reindeer prints for the girl to discover (even though she doesnt believe in Santa anymore we still put out cookies and milk for Santa, and carrots and a bucket of water for the reindeer. Every year I bite the cookes, drink the milk, pour out the water and toss out the carrots. I also make reindeer footprints with flour on the driveway and write a note from Santa back to her. I will never forget the first year that she discovered it was flour and not snow...She was like..."HEY!!! its not cold!!!")
7. Making shrinky dink ornaments with Kaitlin's friends
8. The annual get together we have with some out of town friends. ( Although we see them through out the year frequently, we always do something special for Christmas)
9. When the cats snuggle up under the tree amidst the presents thinking they are getting away with something
10. Stockings bulging with treats
11. Watching National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. (the best is when Chevy Chase goes to plug in the lights and starts singing, "JOYYYYYYYYYYY TO THE WORLDDDDDDddddddd..." and nothing happens!!!)
12. Making a gingerbread house with the girl
13. Watching my husband make a mad dash to wrap presents on Christmas Eve.
14. Picking out a Christmas outfit for the girl (this year a gorgeous red tulle skirt from the Gap and a linen blouse)
15. Making cut out cookies. ( I wish i had my mom's classic cookie cutters....we had like 5, A big snowsuit guy, A Santa with a pack on his back, A star, A bell, and A reindeer.)

When you turn on Christmas Vacation call me ;)
How about the eggnog? And the cheeseball? Summer sausage? :)People never make that stuff except at Christmas. We have traditional foods at Christmas Eve and my kids love it. We watch the movie Heidi too. Silly stuff but it's tradition. Oh and lets not forget the trays of cookies I bake and give to the neighbors. Our new neighbors can't wait to get theirs.
This is too funny... I have always made reindeer tracks and notes from Santa for my kids to find. One year we had a dropped sleigh bell from Santa's sleigh, and one year Santa set up and played a game with one of the kids' toys. Such fun and great memories. The boys figured it out, but it was still so much fun to do!
