Monster Trucks???

Hasnt the weather lately been gorgeous??...seriously some beautiful weather. And in that I DO include the cold rainy weather. I like that whole "bed down and wear something cozy" type weather a lot. Today was so pretty!

The girl has spent the last two days literally outside for 8 hours. I love it! She is so happy hanging out with her friends, riding bikes, scooters, rollerblading, picking nectarines, playing 2 square or making up cheer routines.

Yesterday we were supposed to go to the MONSTER TRUCK JAM at the Citrus Bowl. Now let me just pause here and say, "What about me screams TAKE ME TO A MONSTER TRUCK JAM?" Im not that kind of girl!!! BUT, Brandi can be so convincing and before I knew it we had tickets.
Here's the girl and myself in our "redneck" outfits. Of course E had to take issue with it and say, "its not WESTERN, its REDNECK....you know, camo and mullets and beer!" After a huge argment I left my western shirt at home. (It was one of those argments that ended in....FINE!!!...I WONT wear the shirt then.... followed by 45 minutes of me giving him the silent treatment. Honestly, men need to mind their own business about fashion and not piss their wives off...) Yeah, the evening was getting off to a GREAAAAAATTT start!!!

The area around the Citrus Bowl is a bit, well, shall we say...depressed. Not that this isnt a similar situation in any large city in America. We were caravanning with Brandi and Michael and lets just say the next 90minutes included trying to locate the pit area, trying to find a parking spot, watching people carry 12 packs of beer, checking out how many mullets were seen, commenting on the varous types of camoflauge and various phone calls between the cars. After it started to rain we decided to call it quits. Michael showed off his "CIA/Military training" and sold our tickets to a scalper and headed out for dinner. Here's my Bia and me in our favorite spot at Applebys!Kaitlin's thoughts on the eveing were seen best in this expression. The kids were disappointed but actually bounced back fairly well even though being "bummed out!"

Here is the "girl contingent" (minus darling Jessie) from the evening!! Lexie, Saige and the girlAll that said, this is my favorite picture of the evening...oh my lands...I dont even remember what Michael was talking about but we made him say it over so we could take his picture. He is funny, but what is the funniest is his own kid in the background stealing the show and mugging for the camera, which, according the Brandi is EXACTLY what Michael does in pictures. HILARIOUS! Although the evening ended up not being exactly how we planned, being with good friends salvaged the night and THAT made it enjoyable for all!

Camo, mullets, redneck, that's everyday attire just for a trip to Ingles supermarket around here. IF you put on makeup, you're in for a few stares. I often wonder what they are thinkin, wow she must have gotten up with the roosters to prepare for ths trip to market? Can't buy beer cause we live in a dry county so if would require a much more detailed trip to Fannin County to accomplish that. But, you would stil see much more camo, mullet and redneck there. I truely don't believe dentists are allowed in Fannin county either. Just another day in the mountains for us :) B
