Minnie's Marathon Weekend

In the hopes of dropping some weight and getting into a bit better of health (and making my fat butt smaller) Holly, Brandi and I are running a 5K.

I know, I KNOW...stop sucking all the air out of the room as you gasp in suprise.

I hate runnig.

I really hate running.

I hate excercising in general.

I mean, seriously hate it. Ill really do a lot to avoid it.

Which is why I have a more, shall we say, zaftig figure. (thats an euphemism for fat/chubby/plump)

During my mom's time here she commented, "Ive never seen you happier."That comment caused me to reflect on if that was true or not. I suppose I do feel that finally at 40 that I have reached a place of relative happiness. (not that being happy all the time is the goal in life but its a nice by-product if you can get it) Ironically, while I do feel very good overall, I think Ive never LOOKED worse...THUS the impetus for the 5K.

At the bare minimum I figure several days a week of walking/trying to jog/maybe trotting eventually can only be good for my overall health. I certainly will produce good endorphins, which is always a lovely feeling.

The race is down at Disney and it's part of their Minnie's Marathon Weekend. (i know... ick on the title...could it be more schmarmy??) Its May 3rd so I figure we have at least a good 8 weeks to work on being able to get up to speed.

I registered today, so officially, there is no turning back.

You can do it, Patti!!!! By the way, zaftig sounds like a pretty sexy thing to be called...

I'm gifting you with silence this week-- much too busy to come pester Patti for a few minutes; but when the play's over... WATCH OUT! I'm camping out in your office, bringing coffee, and expecting some serious girl time. :)
