Volleyball!

The girl is enjoying volleyball much more than I anticipated. We all but forced her to do the summer league and summer volleyball camp and she thought she was done with it...until the time came to sign up for the team. She didnt want to, but now that she into it, she is actually enjoying it. I think alot of it has to do with simply being with friends.

I love Orangewood's theory about sports until middle school. Until students get to middle school its all about participation. I like that alot becasue I think it gives all of them a chance to experience it and try it out rather than focusing on only the skilled girls. It will get competitive enough later.

Her coach is adorable and such an encouragement to the girls. She even wrote each of the girls a sweet note last week and taped it to candy and gave it to them at the end of practice. How sweet is that.

Im mostly posting this for my sister so she can see her niece in action. Being a PE teacher, she has a vested interest! Maybe she will eventually stop running on her toes, Sissy!
