Im not lying when I say that sometimes I forget that we have two children now.
Partially this is because the Girl is so old and the Baby Girl is so young...somehow it doesnt compute in my brain that they are both mine at the same time. And yet, they are. E says the same thing. At times he will call to ask about the Girl and the call back about 10 mintues later and say..."I forgot to ask about the Baby Girl!"
I worried alot about how the Girl would do when we got the Baby Girl. Overall, she has done remarkably well. Aside from the occassional meltdown she has not been jealous or resentful or angry about the adoption. (Athough in a pinch, she has been known to pull out the "It's all the baby's fault" card...knowing full well that its not really that but just because she knows it will push my buttons)
The other day I was putting the Baby Girl to bed and I held her down to the Girl who was sitting on the soft and said, "Kiss her...she is going to bed!" She held out her hands to take the baby and she snuggled her and kissed her on the head and said in that sweet baby voice that you use to talk to babies, "I just WUV you!! Yes...that's right, Sissy LOVES you!!!"
When I took the Baby Girl back I said to her, "Do you love her?" The Girl looked at me with this incredulous look and said, "OH MOMMY...of course I do! I DO!!"
It melted my heart.
God is soo good to us!
